One of the most exciting renovation or redecoration projects you can do in your home is getting a new kitchen fitted. But it’s often one of the most expensive projects to take on, so it’s essential your budget stretches as far as it can investing in the key items to achieve the look you want.
With so many decisions to make for your kitchen, from worktops to tiles to flooring and sinks, it can be difficult to find the time to research items that will age well, meet your practical needs, look amazing and come in on budget. I’m getting out of breath just remembering how long it took me to find the right range cooker that fit our space.
Any seasoned renovator will tell you that when it comes to finding the right appliances, it literally can take hours, if not days to find the items that are right for you.
To help speed up your decision making, we’re starting a series of shopping guides for renovators sharing 8 of the most beautiful range cookers first. We considered some of these ourselves and will work beautifully in a Modern Farmhouse / timeless kitchen.
8 timeless dual fuel range cookers that will enhance a modern farmhouse kitchen
The Rangemaster Kitchener – Stainless Steel
We couldn’t start this post with anything other than the cooker we own and love. We chose this Rangemaster Kitchener in Stainless Steel mainly for its dual-fuel functionality and aesthetics. It was reasonably priced for a double cooker too. It has a gas hob, to nicely adjust simmering pans and 2 electric ovens to cook at different temperatures. It’s been easy to use, easy to clean, and comes in several widths depending on the space you have to play with. We highly recommend it.

The Rangemaster Professional – Stainless Steel
A similar cooker on our radar was this Rangemaster Professional available in multiple colours and widths depending on your opening. Brogan from @bayswater_house has recreated a similar look to the Neptune kitchen at the top of this post – using the exact same cooker. The softness of the stainless steel cooker compliments the delicate colour palette on the kitchen cupboards and the marble worktops. Rangemaster are a reputable and well respected cooker brand that many renovators turn to for appliances.

The Rangemaster Elise – Stainless Steel
If you prefer a cooker that’s easier to clean, go for an electric induction cooker like Sharon from @hornsby_style’s Rangemaster Elise.
What I like most about this cooker is that is has no window into the oven. In one sense it’s great for cleaning, no greasy window staring back at you, but in another sense some people like to be able to see their food cooking or rising in the oven and having a window is handy.
The star-like detail on the knobs of the Rangemaster Elise give it a really timeless edge.
Careful on the price tag though – it’s definitely a higher end cooker.

For a really unique take on the Rangemaster, how about trying on the Elise in the darker Slate like Marisa & Chris from @oakappledecor.
The contrasting cooker colour with the lighter handles and knobs create an interesting feature to celebrate the design of the cooker elements.
@oakappledecor has also used the contrasting colours to create some real interest whereas a stainless steel coloured cooker may have blended in a little too readily with the adjacent cabinet doors and drawers.

The Smeg Victoria
Smeg have been creating cookers since 1948 and have created this beautiful retro farmhouse cooker, the Victoria inspired by the very first Smeg ‘Elizabeth’ model.
We love the way it is dripping in 50’s appeal, yet still retains a classy, modern look so that it doesn’t appear too ‘vintage’/
Where the style of your kitchen is slightly more traditional, this model fits in like a hand in a glove.

No post about range cookers would be complete without an honourable mention of the Rangemaster Classic.
Kathryn from @Life_at_the_mews is using it to great effect, fitting snugly in their chimney breast in their country cottage kitchen.
We’re loving the herringbone tiles with white grout for the splashback – a great added touch to bring a sense of depth and texture to the nook.

Lacanche Range Cooker - Cream
It’s sometimes nice to explore the the category of ‘if money was no object’, and this cooker is more than eligible.
We’re in awe of Fran & Oli’s (@winter.cottage) kitchen, with the star of the show being this stunning cream Lacanche range cooker.
The wooden beam above brings in an additional element of rustic charm to what is an already lovingly-crafted cooking area.
Monochrome modern country kitchen with range cooker - Image: Neptune
What’s not to love about this monochrome Neptune kitchen that touches on classic country/farmhouse with its honed stone floor and aga-style rangecooker.
A similar option to this cooker is the Stoves Richmond. It’s got all the authenticity of an aga but offers a sleek induction hob and long handles to hang your oven gloves up after a long baking session.
With so many range cookers out there, we hope this helps to narrow down some choices!
